What Makes Dorluxure Bed Frames Unique?

Not all hardwoods have the same durability — that’s why we use locally sourced NSW Blackbutt, one of Australia’s toughest timbers. With a Janka Hardness Rating of 9.1 kN, it’s nearly twice as strong as American Ash (5.8 kN) or rubberwood (4.1 kN). This means your bed frame is far less likely to bend, warp, or break over time. Blackbutt handles everyday wear with ease, making it the perfect foundation for a bed that stays solid for life.

Many bed frames use veneer on plywood to mimic the look of real wood. Plywood is made by gluing thin layers of wood together, and veneer is a thin slice of wood placed on top for appearance. While this keeps costs down, it’s noticeably weaker than solid hardwood.
Over time, plywood can bend, warp, or weaken — especially with everyday use. That’s why Dorluxure never uses any pine(softwood), plywood, MDF, or wood veneers in any part of our bed frames. We use only 100% solid hardwood, built to stay strong for life.

All Dorluxure hardwood bed frames use traditional Japanese-style interlocking joinery, where each timber piece fits tightly with precision. This creates a strong, stable foundation - no wobbling. No screws, brackets, or tools are required to assemble the foundation. Just slide the pieces together for a clean, solid fit.

Many bed frames rely on screws and metal brackets to hold the base together. But over time, those connections can loosen, causing gaps and movement. Our interlocking joinery delivers the kind of long-term strength and stability that screw-fixed beds can't match. It's smart, strong, and made to last.

Each Dorluxure bed frame features thick, long slats made from the same premium NSW-sourced Blackbutt hardwood as the foundation. Using solid hardwood throughout ensures consistent strength and reliable support across the entire base. Unlike multi-piece slats, our single-length hardwood slats are built to stay strong and stable for years.
The open-slat design allows air to circulate freely around your mattress, helping to reduce moisture buildup. Better airflow keeps your bed clean, fresh, and extends the life of your mattress.

When shopping for a bed frame, it's easy to focus on the outer frame and overlook what really matters - the slats. in Australia, it's common to see pine, plywood, or engineered wood slats used to lower production costs. But these softer materials can bend, crack, or weaken over time, especially under heavy mattresses or daily use.

It’s easy to overlook the importance of rounded corners and smooth edges when choosing a wooden bed frame. But sharp edges can lead to bumps, bruises, or accidents — especially in homes with kids, pets, or limited space.
A well-crafted frame with curved edges doesn’t just look elegant — it adds comfort and safety to your bedroom. That’s why every Dorluxure bed frame is thoughtfully designed with rounded corners and gentle curves.

At Dorluxure, every hardwood bed frame is finished with premium natural oil made in Germany. This coating is DIN EN 71-3 certified, making it non-toxic, child-safe, and free from VOC concerns. It’s a clean, durable, and healthier choice — just the way your bedroom should be.

We back every Dorluxure hardwood bed frame with a lifetime warranty, so you can buy with confidence. This warranty covers any breakage or defects in materials and workmanship under normal bedroom use (T&Cs apply). It’s our promise of lasting quality — for as long as you own your bed.

What type of wood is used?
We only use Blackbutt hardwood — a premium, durable timber native to NSW. It’s known for its strength, natural beauty, and long lifespan.
Is any part of the bed imported?
The only imported part is the painting oil, which is a certified child-safe product made in Germany. All timber and packaging materials are sourced from Australian suppliers.
Can I purchase the bed frame without a headboard?
Yes, you can. Simply select the “Frame Only (No Headboard)” option when placing your order.
Is the finish safe for children or people with allergies?
Yes, we use a German-made natural oil that is certified child-safe and low in VOCs (volatile organic compounds). It’s a safe and eco-friendly choice.
Does the frame come with a warranty?
Absolutely — our hardwood bed frames come with a lifetime structural & material warranty. We design them to last for generations.
What kind of support does the base provide?
The bed base features solid hardwood slats made from NSW Blackbutt, carefully spaced to provide excellent support and ventilation for your mattress. Its solid construction also helps reduce the risk of mattress sagging over time.
